Student
Have you completed at least six semesters of law school and want to get a sense of what daily life at a commercial law firm is like? If so, Merino Law Firm might be the right place for you. With us, you can apply for either a trainee position or a summer clerkship and gain practical insight into working with insolvency cases, commercial law matters, and court-related proceedings.
The trainee program is ideal for those who want to take a break from their studies for a semester and gain broad insight into the work at a specialized commercial law firm. As a trainee, you will primarily assist with our insolvency cases, handling both administrative tasks and more complex legal investigations.
The work will give you experience in several areas of law, such as labor law, tenancy law, procedural law, and matters with commercial elements. Your responsibilities will include drafting estate inventories and other legal documents, conducting legal investigations, and liaising with government agencies.
During your time with us, you will also have the opportunity to attend district court hearings, participate in meetings, and receive ongoing supervision, training, and coaching
As a summer intern with us, you’ll work for 4–8 weeks and become part of the firm’s day-to-day operations. You’ll gain insight into our practice areas, work closely with lawyers on the team, and gain practical experience in how legal work is conducted in real cases.
Your duties may include legal research and drafting legal documents. You’ll also have the opportunity to attend district court hearings, participate in meetings, and receive mentoring and internal training during your internship.
